Farmington Dental FAQs
What precautions do you take to ensure patient safety?
At our office we practice the highest standard of care when it comes to insuring our patient’s safety. We sterilize all dental instruments and equipment used orally with a high heat steam sterilizer or chemical sterilizing agents. Additionally, we use disposable dental products wherever possible. It is our universal practice to use protective barriers on all surfaces we touch during a dental procedure. Our dentists and staff use gloves, masks, protective eyewear and clothing to assist in the prevention of disease transmission. We take our patients safety very seriously because we view all our patients as members of our dental family.
What will happen on my first visit?
Your first visit to our office will include a thorough, comprehensive examination of your entire mouth. We’ll take x-rays of your teeth, and get a complete medical history. After that, we’ll take the time to study in depth all the information that we’ve gathered.
Your next visit will be a consultation. We’ll show you what we’ve found in your teeth and gums—we can even show you pictures from inside your mouth taken by the intra-oral camera. We’ll explain our recommendations for treatment, and, with you develop the right treatment plan. You’ll have the opportunity to discuss your payment options with our financial coordinator.
We know your time is valuable, so you can also schedule a teeth cleaning appointment at the time of this consultation. Once we’ve decided on a treatment plan, we’ll optimize every appointment by doing as much work as possible during each visit.
How long will this procedure take? Is it going to hurt?
We understand that many patients are fearful of dental treatments, so we do everything possible to ensure your comfort during your visit. We can use nitrous oxide during a procedure to help you relax; we also offer movies, cable TV, headsets, and hot towels that will help make your appointment time fly by.
You’ll find that our office is high tech, but never cold or uninviting—it has a warm and friendly family feeling. We’re focused on customer service and on doing the extras that make a difference.
How much will my treatment cost?
Before we begin any treatment, we’ll make sure that you fully understand all the costs involved. And because we want to make sure that you get the dental treatment that you need and want, we have a variety of payment options available that will make your care affordable.
